2018 SNEAKS SUMMER CLASSIC
The 2018 Sneaks Summer Classic on Saturday, July 7th, 2018, marked the inaugural event that would become the foundation of an annual summertime tradition. Created by co-founders Sawsun Khodapanah and Tyson Youngs, the pair wanted to put on an event to revitalize the energy and love around basketball in their local community - specifically, the La Jolla Recreation Center, where they grew up playing basketball.
The inaugural event featured 12 teams, competitive basketball, a great community turnout, and a fun, successful day that would set the stage for the Summer Classic to grow into a summertime tradition in the San Diego community.

Winning the first ever Sneaks Summer Classic on this day was team "Crushin' Dreams," captained by Mike Stein.

The shirt designed for the inaugural Sneaks Summer Classic tournament in 2018 would come to be the first design and the foundation of the Sneaks Clothing Brand. The shirt was made for all participating players in the inaugural tournament. Then, when tournament-goers and community members wanted to buy their shirts, we took orders, made another batch, and shipped them out to everyone who requested one. A successful tournament was in the books, and a brand had been born.
